- 2014 Nissan Rogue Passenger Airbag Light - NHTSA Complaint Filing - My daughter owns a 2014 Nissan Rogue and the passenger side airbag light is on when an adult is in the seat on many occasions. The vehicle has been to the Nissan dealer 4 times to repair the problem but not been fixed. I filed a claim with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. There are not ENOUGH claims filed to date for this year vehicle to be added to the recall investigation. They just reopened the investigation regarding previous Nissan vehicles involved in the March 2014 airbag recall. If you are experiencinng this problem FILE A CLAIM with the NHTSA. Ask yourself this question, how safe is my front passenger that I am responsible for while in my vehicle??

The day I picked it up from the dealer was the first day the passenger airbag light stayed on despite having a 150 lb passenger in it. Took it back to dealer was told to have the passenger sit in the back right corner of the seat (really, like right before i have an accident?). Happened again, brought it in again was told there was a water bottle under the seat (again, really? every other car i've owned could have a dead dog under the seat and not made the passenger airbag light stay on). Took it in a third time today and still am being told there is nothing wrong with it. The number of internet pages addressing this complaint is staggering. This plus problems with the HVAC system (reported separately) will make me trade it right before the warranty expires. Nissan corporate will not do anything for me. From now on I will just say no to nissan.
