2005 Nissan titan 4x4 rear dif. Failure due to spider gear explosion while going over a railroad track with all my tools in the back of my truck! I just purchased the truck not even 6 months ago and don't have any warranty so I'm going to have to pay for it out of pocket ! Just sickening when I just purchased it for $17000 and owe a monthly note! Got on the Internet looking for parts and they are near non existent!Nissan won't release patent on there parts so a $10.00 spider gear is gonna cost me 3 grand ! Wtf .!!!!!

I bought this 2005 Nissan Titan over two years ago and I have had no problem until recently. I was on a short trip and on the way back I noticed my left rear tire soaked with some type of fluid. There were no sounds or vibrations to let you know something was wrong. When I got the truck home I proceeded to take the rear left axle shaft apart. The seal and bearing had exploded causing all kind of groves in the axle housing. At this point the whole axle assembly is bad. There was nothing holding this axle in and this could have killed me and my family if it would have come out while I was driving. I have contacted Nissan and they have stated that there is nothing they can do. I have researched this and axle assembly problems are a common problem for this year Titan.This is my only means of tranportation and I am very disapointed that Nissan hasn't recalled this problem. I have joined a class action law suit on Nissan and I am not finished with them. I thought they would stand behind their trucks after the money they charge for them. I hope something comes out of this

I have a 2005 Nissan Titan SE King Cab with the Off Road, Tow and Utility Package, which I bought new. It has been nothing but heartache! Brakes were shot after 8000 km. I've done the brakes twice, once myself and once at the dealer. Door handles are frozen all winter long. One of the heater actuators clicks non stop. Now at 107000 km, my rear differential just failed. $4500.00 plus tax minimum. 1 year and 7000 km past the warranty. Dealer says they can do nothing about it.

I'm going to put in a complaint with Nissan Canada but I know it won't get me anywhere. I'll take the matter up in court! I believe that there is a looming class action lawsuit against Nissan in the US regarding the diferentials in Titans. I won't own another Nissan product! They know of the break problem and have recalled it in the US but we have to pay for everything here in Canada!

I got my titan new in 05. always have it serviced when needed, have always did the recalls on it. all of a sudden my rear axle went out and the seals are leaking. my mileage is very low for the year of this vehicle, under 33000 miles. warrenty went out about 6 months ago. nissan would not owe up to fixing it. i was told by the dealer that in o4,05 and 06 models they had problems with the rear axles, and finally they built a totally different one to put on the titans. i have found severeal complaints about the leaking seals, transfer case, rear axles, and nissan wont own up to the problem, i am pissed, no money to fix my only vehicle. i am not finished with nissan
