The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Versa equipped with bf goodrich all season radial tires, size: 185/65R15. The contact was driving over a gravel road when the tire blew. The contact took the tire to dealer, who advised that the thickness of the tire was inadequate and caused the tire to blow. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 43,000. The tire failure mileage was unavailable. Updated 07/16/14

Have had my Nissan Versa since 2009, got it with 50 miles on the car. Spent 2 years in Florida with it without a problem and in the past year I've had so many issues with this car I'll never buy another Nissan again. Have replaced all of the tires twice and today I was a mile from my home when my car had issues accelerating and starting making a loud rattling noise. I've come to find out that my muffler has broken at the flange. Apparently this is common with these Nissan and nothing has been done to change it. This can cause carbon monoxide poisoning god forbid someone parks this car in their garage and could also cause an accident if the entire muffler rusts and falls out of someones car while their on the highway.

March 2012 - tire sensor light went off; one sensor replaced. December 2012 - tire sensor light went off, and local tire shop said their diagnostic said sensors ok but that I should go to dealer. March 2013 - dealer's diagnostic said both rear sensors bad, but local tire shop's diagnostic machines said only one sensor bad (April 2013). One sensor replaced. April 2013 - tire sensor light went off, and same tire chain said sensors working as per their diagnostic machine. April 2013 - sensors relearned, but light went off within 1 day.

The tire pressure monitoring system began to flash and then went to a steady signal. When I pulled over to check the tire pressure it was fine. This continued to happen almost daily and is still happening. On one occasion I ignored it and later that day I had a blow out due to low tire pressure. I cannot get the dealer to fix this. I changed wheels and added new tires and the condition continues. On some days while driving it will start to malfunction and then turn off. On other days it is fine. I have seen online that several other people have had the same problem.

2008 Versa, car started making whining noise, brought back and was told tires had cupping (sp?) and that it needed to be brought back to the dealer. Night before dealer appt. Back tired shredded while traveling on major interstate. Looked up complaints under tires on this site and there is a pending investigation onto the Continental tires for "allege sudden and catastrophic failure of tire including tread separation" Nissan dealer says that they will not replace the back tire because blow out was due to road hazards. Sent them the investigation link. Waiting to hear how they will handle. These tires are dangerous and could be putting lives in danger. (mileage listed may be 10-15 miles less than on odometer... do not have vehicle still at dealership).
