CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2012-2017 Nissan Versa has an expensive CVT transmission failure defect that shows up plainly in our complaint data.

In late 2019, the CVT defect was subject to a class action settlement. However the settlement only covers transmission repairs up to 7 years after purchase or 84,000 miles (whichever occurs first).

Because many owners commonly drive 20,000 miles/year or more, Versa owners experiencing CVT transmission problems may find they are not covered by this settlement due to the mileage limitation.

Nissan makes the Versa S model with no passenger outside keyed door lock because their to cheap to install it on the assembly line. All other model gets power window, remote and power locks when you upgrade. They make no effort to accommodate the frugal buyer anymore! Nissan has gotten my purchases because they build a solid bottom of the line vehicle. Not anymore they have become to stingy to save a little money to inconvenience their loyal customers and will not make parts to install the lock yourself! Only a power lock add on will work!

BEWARE Nissan is not interested in low end quality products anymore! I hope a new maker will fill the void soon so I can take my money somewhere else!
