CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2004 Nissan Xterra doesn't seem to have any problem trends. The only thing prospective owners should be aware of are the less-than-perfect (but acceptable) crash test ratings.
There are a very few transmission complaints, but nothing like the huge defect that shows up starting in with the 2005 model year.

Now it's a pain in the ass because it's the 2nd time! Exact same problem, exact same solution, exact same result. I am insane to repeat? The dealership once again, used a new clamp to clamp a new hose to my radiator. Installed a new alternator, again. Same result, radiator hose leaks at the connection, coolant drips on to alternator, eventually shorts...
