MY FREAKING P. O. S. of a car! The damn thing will not start half the freaking time b/c the security system. I finally FOUND OUT WHAT IT WAS but its was going to be like 600 to fix. Thats a 1/5 of what the damn thing is worth so I am going to try and do it myself. Its the ignition lock cylinder where you put your key in. I guess when you get an after market electrical starter on there it messes everything up and messes with your security system so your car wont start. I read some guy's thing saying how its embarrassing to take it in. IT IS this FREAKING CAR DECIDES WHEN IT WANTS TO MESS UP AND WHEN IT DOESN'T!!!!!!!! I swear to God it has a mind of its own, it knows when you are late, when you really have to be some where and all that!

This Alero will not start with security light flashing at least 10 times a week. You never know when it will happen. The key on trick gets you going but who wants to wait that long each time it decides not to start. This could be a real safety issue at night in empty parking lot after work or similar circumstance. Dealer will give no information other than to say "Bring it in, $100 diag fee and cost to fix". If anyone has any information as to what is causing this, please let me know.

engine turns over but will not start .. i was in a parking lot and it was cold i live in canada and i had my kids with me and got in the car to warm us up but the car would not start because the security light was on. i called the dealer which are just there for $$$$$ and not there to SERVE US LIKE THEIR SUPPOSED TO so i called them and asked them if there was any way to bypass this security system and they told me no that i had to get it towed to them and get diagnostic test that would cost me 80$ then they would have to fix the problem that might cost me 600$ then the labor ???? but i told them im not one of those people that they can &^%^& me over and hung up the phone then called a friend that works on cars and told me to put the key in the on position for 10 min. after that the light will go off and then put the key in the off position and start it i told him my story with the dealer and it was going to cost me over 800$ for a simple solution that they should had known.
