The car had problems when I first bought it. However it was under warranty at the time...Replaced the battery(recall). Turning lights stopped working(timing belt broke (replaced) working fine until recently. The security system broke down. Car would not start or it turned off while driving.

My car needed to be boosted one day and then again the next day. Then after school, I went to drive home and my car only got a little ways and all of my gauges started going crazy, my power steering turned off then my car just shut off. I was able to get it kinda off the road. Some people stopped and boosted my car but as soon as they left it turned off. My dad had to come with a new battery which got me home but then later that night, the same thing happened. I then had to replace the alternator and since then have had no problems.

OK, So this car is a piece of S**T.... Four years ago it didnt want to start, cranked, but not start...had the fuel pump replaced....seemed to work...now it's the same problem it seems, tho this time it started after car had sat for 12 hours, then as I drove it somewhere, stopped it, then start it, threwout the day it starts to not start on the first try, then as the day goes on, it takes several times to start it, then it doesnt start at all...Got stranded 30 miles from home, wouldnt start at all, had it towed, got it to a shop, they put in a new fuel pump (at that point the fuel pump no longer worked), it started great the first 5 times, then back to the same ole crap...tho it seems to get worse faster now...even pooping out while driving! Got it to the shop again, a day and a half later they say it starts great...OMG....I told them to start it over and over and over, it will break down eventually...they knew it died on me on the way to there shop, why wouldnt they investigate whats causing the problem by starting it over and over??? I think something is heating up as the car is run a while or over and over...wires ro something....thus making the fuel to stop going to the engine and somehow eventually destroying the fuel pump in the proccess......makes sense to me, do I have to be at the shop to babysit them and tell them what to check???? So So frustrated....never ever buying a GM or Oldsmobile product ever again. Anyone have any ideas?????????

My Car shuts off well I'm driving. It's horrible my steering wheel locks up and I practically have to brake my arms and my back trying to turn it to get out of traffic. When it shuts off it makes and awful buzzing noise and all my display lights are lit up. I believe it maybe weather related because it mostly happens when it is hot outside. When I go to restart my car I have to turn the key to the on position and make sure the Service engine soon light turns on before I can start the car. Otherwise it will turn over but won't fire up. When the light does come on I can hear something switching on towards the back of my car. Since I don't know much about cars I'm assuming that it is my fuel pump. If anyone else has these same problems and has an idea of a way to fix this please let me know asap so the car doesn't kill me.
