The catalytic converter element is broken inside causing rattling. Car has been on road four years in November 2004. General Motors and dealer stated there is no defect, this is normal. Cost of repairs estimated between $750 and $1,000. Believe this is not normal and is a manufacture defect. Previous owned GM cars owned have in excess of 150,000 with original exhaust components.
