The contact owns a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled multiple times intermittently while traveling various speeds. The steering wheel was extremely difficult to handle when attempting to make a left or right turn. The key had to be pushed into the ignition due to the fact that the key was not fully secured into the ignition and was also difficult to insert. The contact had to shake and apply force in order to push the key in the ignition when the vehicle stalled. The service engine sensor light illuminated intermittently on numerous occasions. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop where a mechanic diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.

I ran up a curb to avoid rear-ending a vehicle and a part called the power steering cooler hose (gmpart # 26074657) was damaged, causing the loss of the power steering fluid and therefore the loss of power steering. This part is no longer available from GM, the part is flimsyly installed with retainers that do not secure the hose properly. Over time the hose could dismount from the retainers and anything that hits it could cause a loss of power steering. At the moment an otherwise good vehicle is disabled due to the lack of this part. Can you help?

The contact owns a 2001 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The contact stated that the alternator and battery had been replaced several times. When he activated the air conditioner, the vehicle would shut off. When the contact stopped at a sign or slowed down from 45 mph, the vehicle completely shut down. The power steering and brakes failed. The vehicle was able to be restarted within a short amount of time after the failure. Prior to the failure, the engine light remained illuminated 90% of the time. He took the vehicle to the dealer numerous times and they replaced the spark plugs, battery, and alternator; however, the failure persisted. The current mileage was approximately 100,000 and failure mileage was approximately 32,000.

Clunking in steering wheel, fixed more than once. Was told it was a known problem but would only replace on the third complaint, at which time car was out of warranty. Also headlights will dim and strengthen at night.

1) headlights flicker on and off and create a road hazard especially when driving in snow and rain. Oncoming traffic often flash bright lights at you because they feel you are flashing at them. 2) steering has clunking in it and has been to the dealership several times for repair. The dealership often tells me they can't find anything wrong or can't duplicate the problem though everyone who drives my car or rides in it can feel the shaking in the front end and see the steering wheel vibrating. It still has this problem and now that the warranty is off I am expected to pay for the parts and labor to fix an ongoing problem. I don't feel I should have to pay for this repair. It has become a matter of safety to me. 3) transmission often hesitates when stepping on the gas peddle. I had the car checked and cleaned and still the problem exists. When taken to the dealership all I get is "we can't duplicate the problem" so therefore it must not exist. I know when it is going to start having problems as it gets a high pitched whine like when the steering pump is going out. 4) I am having problems getting car to start or stay running. It acts like it is not getting gas. Previous experience has taught me that since the problem is intermittent, it is not likely to be duplicated at the dealership. This has started occurring with the transmission problem.

There is something wrong with my front end the steering has been giving me problems I'm scared to drive my car. I saw on the news today that there is going to be a recall in Oldsmobile Intrigues up to 1999 but my car is a 2001 and it's been giving me the same problems.
