2000 Silhouette van - [xxx] - leaked dexcool from a faulty lower intake gasket and shorted out plugs. Repair cost approximately 700 usd. Upon research and advice from our auto mechanic, this is a very common issue with these vehicles however GM refuses to issue a recall. The gaskets are plastic and will fail from 30,000 - 70,000 miles. Our vehicle had 53088 miles at the time. It is difficult to consider buying "american" when the product and support from the american company is so poor. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
