1. purchased used 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager in 2006. 2. over 3 month period in 2006-7, drivers side seat back welds began to break as seat back was adjusted for normal driving. Drivers weight was under 200 lb. Seat not reclined or excessive weight placed on back. All welds finally broke. 3. used nylon strap to hold up seat back until frame could be rewelded. Observation - right front seat had been repaired in similar fashion before vehicle was purchased. This was not revealed at time of sale. Potential injury/death if in accident or if seat had failed in critical driving situation.
