Consumer complained about several problems. Recently, the air bag light came on/the odometer stopped reading mileage, and the horn did not work. The cause of these problems had not been determined.

Clock spring was defective. The air bag light came and stayed on, making the air bags inoperable. Also, it effected the horn and the cruise control. A recall was issued. However, this vehicle was not included due to VIN.

My wife and I own a 1999 Plymouth Voyager minivan. We have had several failures that cause us concern about the manufacturer's quality control during production of this vehicle. Most recently, the airbag warning light began to come on for no apparent reason while we were driving normally. Most of the time, it would go back off, but sometimes it would stay on until the vehicle ignition was turned off. On April 27, 2004, we had to have the "clockspring" replaced on this vehicle to correct this problem. The cost of this repair was $180.96. The person in the service department in the Chrysler dealership that performed the repair told me that this part has failed on many of these type minivans. Given the large number of failures of this part, it is my opinion that it should have been replaced under an extended warranty by the manufacturer.

Air bag warning light constantly on and led to horn failure. Almost resulted in accident(s) when we are unable to sound horn when other unsafe driver(s) manuever in a manner which would cause collision with us.

I have a 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager that is experiencing a problem with the clockswitch (horn, cruise control not working, airbag light on). I called the recall line with Chrysler and they said my van was not covered on the recall. Only 1996-1998. I noticed when the investigation was taking place all vehicles from 1996-2000 were being looked at. I think Chrysler should fix the problem with my clockswitch for free because this is a safety defect.

The air bag light illuminate on the vehicle, which caused the horn and cruise control to be inoperative. There was a recall regarding the issue, however the consumer's vehicle identification number was not included.
