The rear windows assembly will not roll up/down, the window will fall. The cable broke inside the window. Cannot just buy the cable, must buy the whole assembly kit. This is the second Bonneville with the same problem.. this happened on August 19, 2005. Contacted Pontiac by E-mail, but had not heard anything yet. When it happened on other Bonneville I the contact had to pay for it.

Within a months time I have had to replace both rear window regulator assemblies in my 2000 Pontiac Bonneville. The first window went down on its own and would not go back up. Less than a month later, the other window did the same. I took the car to a local dealership on 2 separate occasions to have this fixed. These parts are very expensive. I find it odd that a 5 year old car with only 60,000 miles should have such a problem, especially in such a short period of time. Could you give me some insight on why this could be.

I have a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville. Twice in the last five years both rear window winding mechanisms have failed within a period of two weeks. Once could be coincidence, but twice: Is very suspicious.

Right rear window dropped while vehicle was parked. Dealer (cochran Pontiac) said that the only way to repair was to replace complete regulator assembly at a cost of $478.95. The vehicle has 28,000 miles on it and the right rear window has been opened approximately 5 times in the five years that I have had the vehicle.

2000 Bonneville-10/03 had to replace left rear window regulator. 2/04 had to replace right rear window regulator. Both at approx. $400. Pontiac division of GM refuses to admit they have problems w/ regulators for Bonneville, Grand Prix's, and particularly Grand Am. If you know anybody that has one of these vehicles you can be guaranteed they have had at least one regulator replaced.

2000 Pontiac Bonneville with 32,000 miles. The drivers side rear door window dropped out of track while driving. I do not use the rear windows and it was in the up position and not in use. So far I have taken it to a body shop and had them prop the window up temporarily. They advised me to get it fixed because of fear the side air bag may be affected by disconnecting the power to the window. I called the dealer in our town and asked if there have been others with this problem and they said not that they were aware of. I was told they don't sell the track separately from the whole assembly including the motor and the cost of parts would be at least $350. I know of another owner with the same year and model as mine and both of their rear windows did this in a matter of days of each other. He lives in my town and this makes me think it must be a widespread problem. I saw another complaint like mine on this website and would like to have an investigation to see how many of these rear window fixes have been done in hopes of getting financial help from the manufacturer.

I have had my 2000 Bonneville in the shop several times for various reasons. My radio had to be replaced, my drivers side window stopped working and they replaced the motor, now my passenger side window does not work and needs to be repaired. My trunk leaked and was told the extended warrenty did not cover it and the expense was on me. My air conditioner would blow cold air and then hot air or not blow cold air at all, it was in the shop 2-3 times for that. Now my car hesitates when speeding up and you can feel it jerking into gear when it shifts between 1st and 2nd gear or 2nd and 3rd. For this reason I had my transmission fluid replaced and an additive put in and was told this should take care of the problem. It has not!! my next step is to take it back to the dealership to find the problem. Is there anything I should know about concerning the transmission jerking, recalls, etc..?

Since I owned the car I have had these things fixed: 1 window regulator, 1 power steering pump replaced, power steering work (after the power steering pump was replaced) hood repainted and ignition switch replaced. Now I need to have 2 window regulators replaced at $400 a piece. I'm having some load humming noise when using brakes but I had the brakes replaced and it did not fix the problem. The trunk leaks so I can not use it because everything gets wet.

1. right rear window motor failed at 30 months, but 60,233 miles. Window had been raised and lowered less than 25 times. Pontiac agreed to 40% reimbursment. 2. after 60K mi check up, car began shifting very rough. Service engine light came on at 63,266 then off, no problem, again at 66237 in shop now, with two trans diagnotic computer msgs. Will not know cost until problem found. Before dealer did 60K check up was getting 29 mmg on interstate, since check up, getting 23-25mpg on interstates. I believe direct correlation between two, but I know dealer will not agree.
