2007 G5 auto. Trans was having problems shifting between gears. Rpms jumped around and the engine/ trans "rev". it was seen by a dealer, some electronic problem with the trans. Was fixed. It's been 6 months and I'm seeing the problem again. (this car only has 50,000miles on it now.) I see that others are having this problem, it needs attention.

The contact owns a 2007 Pontiac G5. The contact stated that while driving in reverse the gears shifted from reverse to drive on it's own causing the vehicle to accelerate and crash into a building. No one was injured during the crash. The vehicle was towed to a body shop. A complaint was filed with the manufacturer regarding the gear shift in 2009 and did not receive a response or any assistance. The contact replaced the gear shift lever and the failure recurred which caused the crash to occur. The failure mileage was 60,910.

The contact owns a 2007 Pontiac G5. When the contact shifts gears, she hears a noise that indicates the transmission is slipping. In addition, the parking brake does not engage successfully, which could allow the vehicle to roll away. She took her vehicle to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failures or provide a remedy. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 5,600.
