I have an 07 G6 that is having the same issues with brake lights, cruise, and shifting out of park that the 05-06 G6's are. We've had the brake switch changed twice and it hasn't fixed the problem. Even with the brake switch unplugged the brake lights stay on.

I bought a brand new 2008 Pontiac G6 base model 4 door 2.4L. At less than 20,000 miles I started getting brake problems. I brought it into the dealership and they told me that I needed the brakes turned and grinned. I refused to let them do that because other Pontiac G6 owners have complained about the same issues and when they got theirs turned and grinned the same problems with the brakes occurred thereafter. Now (@24,000) I have warped brakes, worn out pads, and a defective worn out I-shaft(steering rod). I brought my car in to the dealership last week, they replaced one of the rotors in the rear, replaced all pads and grinned and turned the rest of the rotors. They claimed my car was fixed but the second I drove out of the dealership the same warping noise was apparent coming from the brakes when I hit my brakes and also when the car was in motion. I was still hearing the clunking noise coming from the steering column. I have done extensive research and found that many americans around are experiencing the same issues with their brakes and I-shaft. This is a serious concern because last week at one point when I hit my brakes my car was not stopping. I kept hitting it and finally it gave in. This is a serious safety concern and Pontiac/GM needs to do something about it before they get the same problems Toyota customers have gone through! view website below to view customers experiencing the same problems. Please do not ignore this complaint..this is a serious issue! do not wait until someone loses their life to this problem. Let's enforce GM to recall this model and car so many americans can stop dishing out hundreds of dollars to fix problems with this car that continues to be a problem once fixed! thank you

Electrical, steering, ABS- I've had multiple issues. When I first purchased the car, I heard a thump when turning. No one could find the problem. Now its out of warranty and they found that it was the I shaft. In January of 2010, my anti lock break light came on. I had to replace a wheel bearing- $500 later, I thought I was set. I was wrong, another six months later, the check engine light and another light came on. A local GM dealer replaced the ECM control and cleaned the fuel injectors and sent me on my way, $200 later. An hour later, the lights came back on. My car shook awfully. I had another two hour drive until I got home, because I was on vacation when this happened. I took it to my local dealer and they said that some wires had rubbed together, and needed replaced, $300 later, I was sent on my way. This week, I took my car to get an oil change and the men noticed that my ball joint was going out. My tire literally shook in front of my eyes. Talk about scary... I got my ball joint/control arm fixed, at a steal of $230 because my friends friend owns a shop and gave me a deal. I did get a quote from a local dealer for $420. In the past year, this car has been nothing but a money pit and it only has 55,000 miles on it. I want out! no more Pontiac for me!

Our 2007 G6 has a safety problem that results in the brake lights being on when the brakes are not applied and off when you apply the brakes. We have also experienced cruise control drop out at speed several times as well as difficulties shifting into drive unless extreme pressure is applied to the brake pedal. All three of these concerns line up with NHTSA campaign id number 09V036000 however our vehicle was built after the recall period. GM has been notified of the concern but reports that there are not recall notices or service bulletins for this vehicle. All three symptoms indicate that the recalled connector sited in 09V03600 continues to be a safety concern for vehicles manufactured after the recall period of 2005-2006. Related to, but witnessed before, the brake light problems on our vehicle I followed a G6 on I75 North of auburn hills mi that had it's brake lights illuminated while at speed but they turned off when the driver slowed due to traffic. This is a concerning safety problem that must be addressed.

I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 and the brake lights stay on when driving down the road and when I hit the brakes the lights go off. People driving behind have no idea when im actually stopping. Also the cruise control will sometimes engage and sometimes it wont. This is a serious problem and Pontiac needs to recall the 2007 or someone could get killed.

Brake lights on when brakes aren't pressed, and go off when pressed. Cruise disengages while driving. Brake switch and relay have been replaced and problem still occurs. Appears to be an electrical issue.

2007 Pontiac G6 brake lights come on while driving and go off when brakes are applied. I have read several complaints from others owners that are having the same issue. This is a big safety concern and needs to be looked into at once. We have been told twice by the dealer that it is fixed but once we leave the dealer the brake lights start acting up once again. This should be a recall in which Pontiac should have to pay for to fix right. So far I have not read of any deaths from this issue but I can assure everyone if there is an accident that happens from this issue there will be legal actions!

My brake lights aren't working correctly. When I am driving and push the brake the lights to stop they don't turn on, then when I take my foot off the brake and hit the gas (nothing touching the brake pedal) the brake lights are coming on while I am driving and when I got to stop and push down the brake they turn off... its like they are working backwards....I have taken it to Pontiac dealer a few times and they say nothing is wrong with it. My daughter drove behind me today and witnessed the vehicle doing this for over a 10 mile drive w/ several stop lights in between and cars were slowing down while I was driving cause the brake lights were one when I didn't hit the gas and they thought I was stopped and I had nothing touching the brake pedal!! its dangerous for everyone near me!!! this is like the 3rd or 4th time its happened. I have police officer friends that have noticed it as well, still Pontiac refuses to acknowledge the issue. See this website below to see how much it happens!! Pontiac refuses to find a fix for it!! go down to post # 24 and read from there like 6-7 pages of complaints townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.F0F6416/10.

Passenger window has extremely bad whistle road noise. I have reported this to the dealer 4 times! they cannot seem to fix this issue. As a result, it has rained inside of my vehicle causing both seatbelts to mildew. The dealer has replaced both seatbelts. Also, the brakes have squealed since I bought the car brand new in 2007! the dealer cannot seem to get this taken care of either.
