seat belts / air bags problem
My service air bag light comes on at random times. It doesn't stay on forever. It comes and goes. What I am worried about is it going to work when needed. Another problem might be me failing state inspection when this light is on. Any suggestions or solutions?

I barely bumped a brick planter box in my driveway at like .25 MPH! No damage to the car at all but now the airbag service light and message flashes on and off intermittently. It's on about 1-2 times /week in the morning when I go to work, then when I go home it's off. Times are tight for $$ so I don't know what to do or how much this will cost to fix.

Dealer told me the Air bag may go off if no one (or that could mean child under 6 years old) was in the passenger seat, or likewise it may not go off if an adult was in the seat. There was a recall for the same car, same year, same problem, but did not include my VIN number? Apparently it was restricted to a couple of thousand VIN numbers only so they would not cover the issue. Is this not the exact same item? Recall language said seat Air bag could go off if a child was in the seat, that's the same action that the dealer said could happen to mine!!!!
Why will GM not expand the recall to other 2007 G6 models with the same issue. It is definitely a safety item. I assume they are willing to go through another nasty public lawsuit if that were to occur. Or is that the "Old GM" so the "New GM" can simply walk away from it?
I thought heard Mary Barra say in front of a congressional hearing, GM Puts customer safety and service above all else. Really, I think not based on my experience. 16 GM cars owned by my family in the past 30 years. No more for this customer. I did ask to speak to the GM Zone rep for the dealership, I was told he always calls the customer back, not this customer!!!!
