Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

My Pontiac G6 has been nothing but trouble since I got it. There is a violent shake in the steering wheel and Pontiac does have open recalls for the issue I am having for inadequate support of the U-joints and steering shaft but my car was not manufactured in the state the recall was issued. I also periodically lose power steering while driving which is also another recall but again Pontiac says my car isn't affected by the recall. I am scared to drive my car we have replaced pretty much the whole suspension and bought new tires still have the problem. When it does go out completely and it causes me to have a major crash I pray to god my kids are not in the car and that I don't die or hurt someone else in the process of trying to get the car stopped. I do a lot of driving for my job and the shake just gets worse and worse Pontiac said they could set me up an appointment to have it fixed which I would have to pay for but I shouldn't have to. They should be responsible for fixing this issue just because my car was made in a different state doesn't mean that they used different parts or put it together a different way. The Pontiac G6 is a hunk of junk I'll never buy another Pontiac product in my life if this one doesn't kill me. I know I am not the only one who has this problem as I have seen countless threads discussing the topic on The shaking starts at about 40mph and the faster you go te worse it becomes. Please if anything at all can be done to help I can't afford to keep sinking money in to this car nor can I afford to get a new vehicle

Again, I bought this car back in 2009 and the front end was making clunking sounds in the front end at slow speeds. Also, every slight bump in the road seems like IżM driving down a war zone. I understand these are low profile tires and the ride isnżT like a Cadillac, however, the front end on these cars are not well built. From the driver's seat, the sounds make me feel uneasy as if the tires are about to fall off from all the clunking, popping and other sounds! this is also true in many other GM models, as well. Is this a safety issue" or nothing to worry about" when I trade this in, I wonżT be buying another GM product, that's for sure!

Two hours after driving it off the dealership lot, it started clunking /snapping in the front end when I turn, go over a slight bump, brake and accelerate. No doubt there needs to be a recall and soon!

I was driving and noticed that my airbag sensor light was coming on. It occasionally comes on and it goes off. I'm having a issue with something underneath my car. I replaced tierod and got two front end alignments. Since purchasing this car in October 2013 I complained to dealership my concerns for my car not feeling safe. It seems to be something in steering or underneath vehicle. My thermostat gauge fluctuates from zero degrees to 220 degrees while driving. Water pump was replaced and it still occurs.

We have a clunking in the front end of this piece of crap while turning. We have replaced the strut & spring assembly and sway bars in the front, as well as the rear shocks. Now its getting hard to turn and appears to be the power steering or a steering shaft issue. Also the passenger side airbag light is now on after the fuse for the cruise control blew, replaced fuse and still remains on. I purchased this car for my 16 year old daughter and now feel its a death trap, there appears to be numerous problems with this car and no recalls. How would you feel if it was your child driving it, or yourself for that matter. You really need to get it together and do something!!!

Loud constant clunking noise two weeks prior to incident pulling out of my garage and vehicle would not turn left or right no matter what, after turning ignition off and on numerous times I finally was able to get vehicle back in garage after doing some research on these cars they are known for having power steering and suspension problems also these vehicles have been in numerous auto crashes because of this! this vehicle also only has 70,000 miles on it there is no recall on this vehicle whatsoever, why is that?because obviously someone at GM dropped the ball!!! I am in the military and I am by no means financially able to continue to dump monies on a vehicle that GM should repair at no costs that has safety issues!!!

Driving during snowy conditions, I began to lose control and spin out. I attempted to correct my steering, then my car fish tailed. I slid into the ditch, never used my brakes. I took out a sign with the drivers side and hit about 3-4 trees with the front end. My airbags never deployed. Thank goodness no one was injured, but the amount of damage done and how many things I hit, shocks me as to why my airbag never deployed.

I financed this used car in 2010 at 27,000 miles. Since I have had this car I have not had the chance to really enjoy it because I am constantly fixing on it. I ave had a lot of problems. I have replaced brakes 2X once with rotors and they are goin out again including rotors. I am constantly replacing tires. My steering wheel pops when turning and I have had this fixed once. Traction gone. Had heat/air on and smoke smelling like a firecracker came from passenger dashboard. My biggest problem right now is that I had the whole suspension system replaced and now I am constantly replacing the lugs on my front left tire because the constantly pop off. Brake lights and headlights constantly goes out. Air bag, engine, and traction light goes on and off (sometimes staying on). Power in driver door gone out for windows resulting in 3 windows unable to roll up/down but will work when wants. Only one will go down using its own panel. Replaced a crack in lca. Remote starter gone out. Car wheel shakes occasionally. Interior lights doesn't work except front dashboard but minus where gear shaft at (went out after smoke from dashboard). Needs struts to be replaced. Also jerks with a huge pop that you can feel when putting car in gear. When accelerating you can feel it shift gears. I am currently only at about 83000 miles. Nothing but trouble. Scared serious accident may happen because of the lugs constantly poppin off. We don't know why. I called Pontiac and GM and no recalls on this car except power-train and warranty for trans and none of this was covered by warranty or them period. Tired of this car so tired!! GM and Pontiac need to do something this is terrible to only be a 2007.

On highway traveling out of town averaging 60-65 in my 2007 Pontiac G6 I lightly pressed brakes approaching an exit for gas when a the steering wheel started shaking. I had to press the brakes again to stop after exiting the highway to stop. The shaking was noticeably worse. I purchased the car used about 2 months before this event so I did not expect any brake issues. After several months my wife mentioned a noise from the brakes. I had the brakes inspected and the service person said the brakes were fine but my front and rear struts were bad. I asked him if this would cause the steering wheel to shake when breaking at highway speeds and he said yes. I took the car back to the dealership of purchase and they did a brake inspection even though I asked to have the struts looked at and stated that rotors were warped. After this I searched for problems with the steering on the model and year of my car. I found thousands of customer complaints of all the symptoms and issues I was having. I did find a service bulletin about the intermediate shaft in the steering.technical bulletin no.: 06-02-32-007G date: April 05, 2010 subject: Clunk, knock or rattle noise from front of vehicle while driving or turning over bumps at low speeds (diagnose noise and perform outlined repair) models: 2004-2006 Chevrolet Malibu maxx 2004-2008 Chevrolet Malibu classic 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu 2005-2010 Pontiac G6 2007-2010 Saturn aura supercede: This bulletin is being revised to update the parts information for the bolt. Please discard corporate bulletin number 06-02-32-007F (section 02 - steering. At this point I believe a recall should be issued on the entire front suspension including the factory rotors which warp within 2K-3K miles. Re-surfacing these rotors increases the braking problem. And a non-metallic ceramic brake pad should be installed by a GM certified service department.

I bought this car, a 2007 Pontiac G6 GT coupe about 2 years ago and it only had 37,000 miles. It now still only has 75,000 and the ball joints are out! this should not happen this soon. I have another car, a 1997 Buick Lesabre and it's ball joints are still in good condition. It has 167,000 miles. It caused all of my tires to wear out early and now I'm looking at over a 1000 dollars to fix it. This is obviously a design problem. The car is undriveable. It's not safe to be driven because of these ball joints going bad so early. I guess I'll have to go back to driving my much older but much more reliable car.
