At times im not able to go over 15 mph, or the engine will send a read out on the radio that states " engine reducing power", then the traction will state (on the radio) that the traction has turned off and the light comes on, also the powersteering notification appears on the radio and the car is not abel to be steered. The engine will no allow me to give the car gas to accelerate, and the engine will jerk, the rpms will go up and down by itself I called the Pontiac number for help they told me that there was not a recal open for my car and they they were not abel to do anything for me very rudely.

The service electronic speed control (ESC) and traction control light illuminates frequently. At low speed something happens that causes steering to be difficult. We have had the vehicle in for a recent recall that was suppose to fix this problem. The problem persists. The dealer wants approximately $350 to replace the electronic steering control modular. My research indicates that this item is a recall item but the dealer disagrees.

I purchased this car new. The steering shaft in this car needed to be replaced due to clunking noise from the steering shaft when turning. While researching my issue, I noticed several online complaints about this issue. The repair was not covered under warranty and cost me $350. Typical GM problems!

Rear passenger door will not lock/unlock. Loud, rubbing noise coming from steering column when making turns. Low beam headlights work intermittently (got stopped by a policeman and warned of a citation the next time I would get stopped). I changed the bulb twice. Low beam headlight will stop working, but the bulb is not actually burned out. As a result, I had driver side bulb wiring replaced by dealer, due to charring that was present on the wiring harness. Then, it started working again. A month or so later the other one went out. Now the passenger side wiring is charred, but the bulb is fine.

While driving the power steering suddenly gave out. It was very difficult to drive and nearly caused an accident. There was lots of smoke as well. After having it looked at by a mechanic we were told that the power steering hose is too close to the manifold and burned a hole through it. He said it is an unsafe design.

I was traveling on U.S. 30 to greensburg, pa and I went on to the off ramp on to West pittsburgh street and the traction control, stability lights lit up. I look down at the dashboard to see what going on. Then, my car jerked suddenly backwards I hit my head two or three times off the head rest. I hit the on star button to report what has happened to verify the codes and told them the situation. The on star people didn't even ask me if I needed medical attention. So, I drove to the hospital that was 1/4 mile away. I was diagnosed with a head injury and received treatment for neck and back injuries.

Had the electric power steering module fail. Had the car fixed. Called Pontiac to inquire about the recalls issued earlier in 2014 pertaining to other 2008 Pontiac G6S recalled for this problem and was told that my car was not included in the recall. Cars produced before and after ours were included in the recall, but not ours. Made Pontiac aware of the situation and was given a case number of 71-1341653151. Not sure was to why our particular vehicle was not included in the recall. Any help that could be provided would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
