Door Locks Not Responding

CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 is starting to have the same problems as previous model years, including the headlights blowing out due to bad connectors.

The wiring harness connections aren't a big deal to replace, as long as your dealer or mechanic doesn't charge you an arm & a leg to "diagnose" the problem.

So one day I went to get in the back seat on the passenger side, and the door would not open. Had to lean the passenger seat all the way back to unlock the door. (Who's bright idea was it to put the door lock knob all the way to the back of the door at the back of the back seat, why not behind the front seat like most cars). At this time to drivers side rear door lock worked

When I unlocked it then it would not lock when I parked the car and hit the auto lock switch on my key chain.

A few days later and the drivers rear door did the same thing. It works when it wants to.

THE FIX

I roll the rear windows down so I can unlock them. (at 60 to old to be climbing over seats). Someone in another thread said to replace to power lock mechanism. Power windows up and down works for now and much cheaper.

The automatic door lock/unlock button stopped working on drivers door shortly after purchasing. Many many other systems have crashed, brakes have gone out 4 times, tire sensors are bad, have had to have tires replaced 6 times....... This car had 24,000 miles when I bought it and now it has 65,000 (6 years later). I'm very easy on my cats and have all necessary work and prevention work done. But this car is awful... Absolutely terrible.

This is a real pain when you try to put something in the back seat and you can't open the doors on either side! Never have fixed cause I really don't want to spend $300 to fix this problem!

Door lock on driver's side rear sometimes works fails to lock or unlock when using remote entry. Works manually. I noticed a few others had this issue and wanted to say I also have the same thing. Odd that it is the same door! Someone told me to try taking off the inside door panel to get at the mechanism and oil it. I have not tried that yet but will post when I get around to it.

I complained that the lock does not work on the driver side rear door. dealership did a check and found door lock has internal fault. the price they quoted of course is not written down on invoice because I declined to have it fixed; it was the least of my problems. for this I had to pay the diagnostic fee, really, really! and they are not saying it is a defect, yet I have no issues with the other doors.

Very annoying as this was the door behind drivers seat, and it's impossible to just reach thru to pull the lever up. Is too far back so had to send a kid to crawl through. What a pain to have ANOTHER electrical issue!
