Cheap plastic guides snap off on the regulators causing the window to fall to the bottom of the door. The whole unit must be replaced not just the clips. On the bright side the door comes apart easily so you can put a brace inside to hold the window in the up position.

Shortly after buying my used but still fairly new grand am gt, I was getting window tint put on and the window regulator broke, those flimsy little plastic parts are not worth a damn. About 4 months later in the wintertime the other window regulator broke on the opposite door, well I was 30 miles from home and had to drive all the way with my window down in 30 degree weather to borrow another car.
