On most cars replacing the water pump wouldn't be an issue...however for some ignorant reason they put the water pump internal? Who thought this was a good idea? So that involves a lot of labor and replacing the timing chain?? What who got paid alot of money to design this? My daughter's car she is a college student and now has a huge bill or no car...seriously??? You should be ashamed of yourselves at Pontiac for even selling a car like this... now you have a young person who will never buy another Pontiac...so sad she loves her car so much and now may have to junk it because some idiot didn't think this through!!! Shame Shame on you all!!! Maybe buying American isn't the smartest move anymore!

According to online reports, this definitely doesn't bode well. I had a 1993 Grand Am and LOVED it, but this one has been a pain since I got it. Spent $1,000 the first year alone on repairs. Other than that - runs like a charm. :(

Looks like this is a common problem. Hopefully we have this caught before we have to get everything replaced.
