Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

problem #2

Grand Am GT 3.4L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 107,000 miles

I bought the car in the winter, so the air conditioner was the least of my concerns.

Here in Illinois, we had the hottest summer I think I've ever been through. There were several days in which the highs were past 100 degrees. One day I tried to use the air conditioner in the car, and it did nothing but blow hot air.

After taking it into my local GM dealer's service department for an A/C service, I was informed there was a hole in the compressor and the hoses were no good.
