This car is the worst when it comes to the cooling system. I have had nothing but issues. I'm driving and i stop to turn into a store parking lot when I notice the temp gauge is above 210. I park and turn off the engine and smoke starts coming from under the hood. I get out and walk to the front of the car and see water all over the ground. Don't know where it came out from cause we didn't find a leak. The fans weren't coming on. This is a recurring problem I have also had fixed several times. You fix 1 thing on this car to have something else go wrong.

I have a Pontiac Grand Prix with a random overheating problem. The water pump, and thermostat have been replaced. The cooling system has been flushed. Some days the vehicle runs fine. Other days the vehicle will overheat. There are no signs of coolant in the oil or vice versa. I have bled the air out of the cooling system using the 2 bleeder screws. Could this be a Dexcool problem causing blockage that would not allow proper circulation?

Grand Prix 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 130,000 miles

It begins when I turn the car on. If the light on the dash that shows what gear the car is in, isn't lighting, then the issue is present. With this lack of light brings on the gear sticking in park, the air conditioning not working, and my car overheats due to the fans not kicking on. Note: the keys will come out of the ignition with the car running.
