first, the low coolant light started flashing on and off even though the coolant is fine in both the radiator and recovery bottle and the temp. seems to be ok. now, the light seems to stay on for short periods of time then it goes back to flashing on and off, then back on for short period of time. i've been told that it wouldn't hurt to drive but i am nervous because i don't want to do any damage. i've taken it to a Pontiac dealer and they put me off because the car wasn't bought from there! i would like to get this fixed as soon as possible but would like to know what could be causing it before taking it and getting ripped off because i'm a woman! any help is greatly appreciated!

low coolant light stays on all the time even though it is full of antifreeze. mechanic looked at it and say every thing is fine. no leaks anywhere, so i just took the bulb out.
