I bought my car last December 3, 2010 from a local used car dealer. I had a few problems a few months after I bought the car and I took it to my local shop to have repaired. That's when I found out there was some problem with the Transmission and this was back in May of 2011. I now have to put 1,700.00 in my car after 10 months of having it into a new transmission. Plus, this isn't including the labor that goes with it either. I wish I had did more information about the vehicle before I bought it and all. I have learned from this mistake and I ended up paying way to much for the vehicle. I'm sorry I have had many vehicles and haven't had a problem with my transmission. I had the normal repairs like any other vehicle would.

No TRANSMISSION shouldn't go out before 80,000 miles on it. The transmission started to slip a little bit and won't move. The shop I took it took about the problem of the wheels not moving thought we had the problem fixed until four weeks later when the transmission started acting up with the slipping here and there. For the next few months its started doing it more. Like it didn't do it all day long and then the next day I would have problems with it. One day I went to get into my car and started it up and everything and back up and placed it into drive and pressed on the gas and car didn't wish to go. I just keep on it and it finally moved but then it keep doing it all the time I was driving home. I had to take the easy and fast way home and less stop signs to make it home. Because of this problem accrued I almost was in a few accidents because my car quite moving while making a turn on the highway.

I have heard about it after like 150,000 miles. I ended up call a few GMC dealerships so I could get more information about any possible recalls and information about the vehicle and what repairs that have been done by GMC. I had learn there was some type of transmission work under 20,000 miles.

I would like to know how do I go about finding out more information about this because I tried with the dealerships and they wouldn't do much more then give me information about the car.

For about a week the car had some shifting issues. Where it seemed delayed in shifting up to the next gear. This was on the list to be looked at next service, due within the month. Then last night while out with some friends first it wouldn't accelerate above 50 km/h. When I dropped off some of the friends I turned off the car and came back to it about 2 hours later and drove off, and got up to 60 km/h in city. Then after hitting the first stop sign it wouldn't go over thirty, came to a crawling stop and would do nothing. Turned it off and started it again - got about 500m before this happened again. Ended up getting it towed to my place - but now not sure if this is common, or if it is expensive to fix. The transmission fluid was changed at last service - done roughly every 6-7000 km - where the car is mainly used for highway driving.
