To my understanding this is a problem with this vehicle. Overall it has been pretty good to me with all the traveling I do and hauling equipment to perform. Engine light is on now and we can't figure it out. It says oxygen sensor but it has been replaced and drives pretty good.

This is not so much a complaint as it is just wanting to hear from others an approx. cost on fixing this.

I bought my vehicle at Toyota, cash on the spot, I noticed a few days after having it, the check engine light came on but only stayed on for a day or so and turned right back off. the check engine light would periodically come on from time to time but only for a day or so and would turn right back off for weeks before coming back on again. Mid day when the problem began I noticed the batterly light came on. I turned the car off, obviously it would not turn back on. I got a jump but the car went into theft mode. It turned on but completely locked up. The power steering wouldn't work, the speedometer, the lights, the radio, nothing worked. Not to mention it would only drive about 5 mph. The battery was checked and was dead. I purchased a new battery, the car unlocked, turned on and everything seemed fine the next day. I drove to work with no issues besides noticing the check engine light was still on along with the battery light. I figured, after work I would go have it checked out. When I went to turn the car on after work, again it locked up, Now, after reading the manual it states, if a lock out were to occur, I would need to take it to the dealership to have the proper codes to enter in. I have a feeling it is the Alternator that's causing the issue but I do not want to have to take my vehicle to the dealership once I found out what the issue is and if it is the Alternator, after having it fixed, if it locks up again, would anyone know an alternative to unlocking the car from anti-theft mode?

The engine icon light comes on intermittenly. Read the manual, states that i might have some bad gas, i should replace the gas and it might take a tank full for the light to go out. I had a half tank of gas, so i filled up with premium. (Normally i use regular unleaded.) The light went out after i drove about 15 miles then it came on the next two times i drove the car (about 10 miles each) then it went out again for the rest of the tank. I had this same situation occur about 2 months ago.
