While checking in at the rental office, on our beach vacation in 2007, our Montana experienced transmission slippage/ engine surge (whatever). We had left our elderly parents and three y.o. comfortable and "safe" in the A.C. of the vehicle. After ten minutes
or so the vehicle crashed into a large potted tree in front of the large plate glass window of the office, shattering the pot and stopping just short of the window.(Note: my mother was in the passenger seat and assured me no one touched anything).
Needless to say, this could have been a very dangerous situation, even deadly. But no one could tell us why it happened. So since then we make sure to turn the ignition off everytime the driver exits.... NO MATTER WHAT! Has anyone else had this problem with the Montana?
