seat belts / air bags problem
Passenger seat belt module reads a code. Needs to be replaced & fixed by GM. So many other cars report the same thing. This is GM's problem & I'm scared & need this fixed by GM. I'm also worried the seat belt tensioner will not work either. This is major problem that GM needs to fix asap!

At 33800 miles, the service airbags light suddenly came on and indicated an off condition for the passenger seat even with an adult passenger seated. I consider this as a very serious safety issue. If an accident were to occur the passenger would have no airbag protection. I took the Solstice to an authorized General Motors dealer, they diagnosed the problem to be the seat sensor and estimated the repair to be $ 838.32.
General motors has refused to pay for this very serious safety issue. When I take my wife out for a ride I want to know that she has the same airbag protection as I. I have filed a complaint with NHTSA and found that there have been many identical complaints for Solstice as well as Skys. I have also sent a personal appeal to Mary Barra, the CEO of General Motors. I am writing this in the hope that other Solstice owners do the same before a passenger death occurs

Every Solstice complains of this problem yet no recall. My passenger is not protected by an airbag because of this issue.

AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT IS ON; PASSENGER SIDE 'AIRBAG OFF' IS INDICATED. DEALER SAYS PASSENGER AIRBAG IS 'INOP', PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE FAILED. WILL COST ALMOST 800.00 TO REPAIR. APPARENTLY THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR PONTIAC SOLSTICE OR SATURN SKY (HOWEVER FACTORY RECALLS ON THIS PROBELM FOR OTHER MAKES ARE AVAILABLE). THIS SEEMS LIKE A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE !

I called GM last year to see about any recalls. They told me that there are not enough issues/complaints to do a recall, but it seems everyone that owns one of these has had the seat module go out. It costs $1,000 to fix. $1,000 I don't have. So my car has been sitting in the garage un-drivable for over a year, sickening. It won't pass inspection until the airbag module is replaced/fixed. There needs to be a recall on this. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!! This is not something that should just "go out or stop working". How is this not a recall when people could die because GM installed faulty airbag systems?
Update from Oct 10, 2018: There was a recent recall for SRS sensor, but it did not include the SRS control module which is the problem. So I’m still without a car that I can register and drive. This is ridiculous!
