The passenger airbag light is on. Not covered by a recall. Could cause serious injuries for passenger if involved in accident. GM should issue a recall.

Called Schumacher, where I purchased it. They said not on recall. Is this a Takata air bag? I asked to have it disconnected. They said that that is illegal. But, if the bag goes off I can die. I would rather take my chances with my seat belt alone. Also, my ex-wife was from Thailand and only weighed 95lbs. The passenger seat did not register occupied. Schumacher changed seat and I still had the same problem. When I complained to the mechanic he said "GM is aware of the problem". They never did anything else. I was shocked. Finally, I have been suffering since 4/1/2011. I saw a big black van coming toward me from an adjacent lane. I jammed on my brakes and the keys fell out. The car went dead. The steering locked and I was slammed into. I have three herniated discs and a torn shoulder from the resulting accident. I also later found out I was suffering PTSD from the accident. I didn't know that was possible if you were not in combat and I wasn't. I was coming home from the Tennis Court when this occurred. I can no longer play. Within a year of my accident my wife and I divorced. It was because of my PTSD. This accident ruined my life. I am 65 years old and spend most of my time sitting in a chair in great pain, because of this accident. I try to keep a positive attitude. I was very fit when the accident occured. The only thing I can do now health wise is swim and watch my diet. I am on meds. It is awful.

I had my ignition recall fixed and the same day as I was diving home my service airbag light came on. I called the dealer that did the recall they had me bring the car back in. They checked it and said it was the module under the passenger seat and it would cost $750 to fix it. I didn't have it fixed I couldn't afford it. I think it is very odd that I never had a problem with it until I got the ignition recall fixed.

The passernger side airbag light seems to work and not work, and now the SERVICE AIRBAG on the DIC came on, immediatly following the inigition recall service. Dealer claims that there are alot of complaints but no service recall in place. I was told it will be several hundred to diagnose and repair!
