Engine speed accelerated when coming to a stop. Had to jam on break and throw transmission into park. This occurred multiple times in future months. Car is only driven may thru Jan. Car went to dealer 4 times for this problem including Toyota recalls. Last occurrence 11/9/11. Problem never solved. (multiple times means 7+).

The contact owns a 2010 Pontiac Vibe. The contact stated that the vehicle abnormally accelerated while the contact was braking. The engine had to be turned off for the acceleration to stop. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the dealer test drove the vehicle but was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that they would have an engineer inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 20,000.

The contact owns a 2010 Pontiac Vibe. The contact was driving at a minimally low speed when the vehicle abnormally accelerated to 20 mph. The contact stated that the brakes would not stop the vehicle and were also defective. The floor mat had caused the accelerator to become stuck and the vehicle was towed to the dealer where the contact was advised that the failure was caused by the acceleration failure as listed in NHTSA campaign id number: 10V024000 (vehicle speed control:accelerator pedal) however, the contact did not confirm if the vehicle was included in the recall. The contact did not inform the manufacturer of the failure nor was the vehicle repaired. The current and failure mileage was 28,694.

The contact owns a 2010 Pontiac Vibe. The contact stated NHTSA recall campaign id number: 10V024000 is in effect for his vehicle but he did not receive notification of the recall. The contact has not had any vehicle speed control failures with his vehicle. The contact stated that the remedy for the recall should be available in a timely and reasonable time, which it was not. The current mileage was approximately 8,000.
