My truck started to run rough and sound really loud. I thought it was just an exhaust leak but i decided to take it to my mechanic right away. After a couple of hours he called me and said he was getting no compression in cylinder 3 and need to dig deeper. After further investigation he saw the rod just lying there, and than noticed the rocker arm was blown to pieces.

Long story short, this is a common problem with the 5.7 Hemi and I needed to have the motor machined and replace springs, lifters, rockers, cam shaft, and some other sh*t. Total cost me $4700.00 and it took 10 weeks because the rockers were on 11,000 back order. Dodge really needs to fix this problem and make good for people who had to deal with this issue. On top of that cost I also had to rent a car for an additional $1350.00.

I should have my truck back tomorrow and i will be bringing it to a Ford dealer for a trade in. Sorry Dodge I loved this truck but enough is enough!!!!!

engine fire engine fire engine fire engine fire engine fire engine fire

I found my truck on fire after having a snap on battery jump box hooked up to my battery. I had the truck running for maybe 20-30 minutes to charge the jump box since it was dead. I needed to use the jump box to start my 2001 Ford Ranger. The battery and the jump box does not have too much damage. Only the battery cover got melted in some spots do to the heat and the battery boxes outer cover got some melted spots. My battery and jump box still works just fine.

The fire seems to have started in the engines valley between the alternator and throttle body. I had it towed to the shop and because the electrical items in the cab still work the truck was not totaled. I asked the dealer if they were able to figure out the cause but they said it would be hard to determine. This truck only has 8000 miles on it and already burned up. I called RAM and am waiting on a reply from them so they can investigate the problem. I want them to cover the repairs and not my insurance company. If I did not shut the key off when I did the truck would have been a total loss. I got to the truck right as the main fuel lines melted and the flames got fueled. I was able to put the flames out right before the fire department arrived.
