When driving at highway speed, if I hit the seam between the road and a bridge and it is not smooth my truck goes into a, "Death wobble." The steering wheel and the whole truck shakes uncontrollably. I can barely keep it in the road. It will only stop when the vehicle slows below 30mph. This problem started about 48,000 miles, I only have a little over 56,000 now. I have changed the stabilizer, got new tires and an alignment. I will be taking it to a mechanic on the 17th but I really believe the manufacture should have a recall on this vehicle. It is very dangerous. I am not the only person to own one of these trucks and this happens to.

At apprx.38,000 mi, on a freeway at 65 mph, ran over a small bump in the road the truck began shaking violently, as if it was going to fly apart.took foot of the gas, hit the brakes until slowed to approx.. 40 mph. I'm a small female it was all I could do to get the vehicle to the off ramp. This was not a normal tire out of balance situation.if so it would do that consistently. A few weeks later it occurred while my husband was driving it.he's definition is like a bucking Bronco. We purchased an extended warranty from the dealership lake norman Chrysler Dodge. Took the truck in we thoroughly explained to the service writer how dangerous this is, it's a safety issue. He wrote it up as a very bad vibration. Their findings was a steering stabalizer and replaced it. Mileage was 42722. It doesn't do this with every bump you hit. This vehicle is not driven often. Now only a few hundred miles later it happened again twice. Both times while traveling on the freeway 60 to 65 mph. When you're on a freeway and a tractor trailer truck is behind you, it is life threatening to take your foot off the gas and hit the brakes. The truck is back at the dealership has been there for 1 1/2 weeks. They can't find anything wrong. We have discovered this is called the death wobble and Dodge has had this problem for years and has never solved the problem.this has been a major problem on the Dodge Ram 2500 and Jeep Wrangler. Normally it occurs when the vehicle has 150,000 miles on it or better when parts have worn out, not at 40,000.if the dealer says that all the parts and bushings are good, if so, then this is a Dodge Ram design flaw. There are reports all over the internet of other owners who have this same problem and how dangerous it is. We paid a lot of money to purchase this vehicle and now can't even drive it.

The transfer case of the truck broke suddenly and since I was driving at 75 miles, the rotation of the metal parts keep going and broke mayor parts under the rucks such as transmition, suspension, oil lines, diesel lines, and much and much more even made a hole under the cabin. The part under the truck just look like something exploded because the damage is too big. Even beyond repair for me.

My vehicle is part of the Ram truck repurchase under recall N49. Fca us sent me an offer for my truck that I received October 26. I filled out the paperwork and E-mailed it to the listed address. I called the next day, October 27 and fca us verified they had recieved my documentation. They said a check for the repurchase had been requested. I was informed this would only take 2-3 days to issue a check. I called back on November 17 because I have not heard from fca us for three weeks. At this point fca us claimed they were waiting on my documents. I told them they had already verified receipt of said documentation on October 27. The representative said " let me look" and after looking verified fca us did have the documentation and stated they would request a check for the repurchase. I asked how long until I could expect to here from them and I was informed that they are not giving times. I questioned the fact that they told me 2-3 days 3 weeks ago and was told "that's not true, we are not giving times". is fca us going to be held accountable? it doesn't seem like they have any intent in paying me or my family for our unsafe vehicle. This Ram 2500 is my primary vehicle and I cannot replace it until fca us pays us what is owed and this being our primary vehicle we have no choice but continue to drive this unsafe vehicle with faulty steering that could break and cause us to crash.

I have a 2012 Ram 2500 with 20,000 miles. Whenever you go over a bump or railroad track the truck starts to wobble uncontrollably that you need to come to a complete stop. On one occasion I was on the New York thruway traveling at 70 and hit a bump and couldn't even see straight it was wobbling so bad. Have brought to dealer when it first happened last year and was told it was a bad steering dampener was replaced and problem still exists. My wife will not use the truck because is terrified of the issue. I have owned many Ram trucks and have never had this problem. An inexperienced driver could result into a serious accident.

I noticed for 6-8 mos steering issue to the left, called dealer said nothing wrong. At various times a strange clunking clicking left front wheel area as decelerating and turning left weight to the front. Now choppy tire left front as there are no ball joints it appears tie rod is bad or something. While pulling into a turn the other day August 17,2015 the veh pulled heard the clank again and the steering pull caused us to strike fixed object. Dealer says not affected by recall, but we have all the same issues, and noted for awhile steering at intermittent times problems... what can I do very afraid to drive as we drive interstate often with loads, we need the vehicle but it seems to have the same issue as recall even though our VIN shows different plant, but what do we do just be killed first? help please.

3 different instances, while traveling from different road surfaces, cement to gravel, gravel to tar. Seems small difference in road height causes truck to shake violent, and lose control of steering ability.2 of 3 times ended up coming to a stop in ditch. Only after crossing both lanes.thank god there was nobody else on the road at the time. After the second time it happened I went on line to see if anybody else had this happen to them. What I found was that they did and they have a term for it [ the Dodge death shake ]. the after market even makes parts to correct the problem. From new steering links, steering boxes.and frame stiffeners. Makes a person wonder, if they have a term for it, and make products to stop it.what the hell you are doing about it". and why do consumers have to pay thousands out of pocket, to repair an poorly designed product them selves" from lawsuits to lies and everything in between.

The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that while at a dealer for a routine service, the technician diagnosed that the ball joints and track bar needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the contact stated that one month later, while driving at 60 mph, there was a noise coming from the front of the vehicle. In addition, the contact was unable to control the vehicle as the steering wheel required excessive force in order to turn the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that a bolt needed to be screwed onto the track bar. The vehicle was repaired. The failure persisted and the vehicle was taken to a different dealer who stated that the front end needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,000. Updated 7/29/15 updated 10/2/2017

This is in ref to safety recall N49 / NHTSA 13V-529. I received a recall form Dodge and took my truck into miller's Dodge in martinsburg wv. The service dept. Looked and said your left tie rod ball stud needed to be replaced. I have called to check on the part status 3 times. It has been 5 months and everytime I put my family in the truck they are at risk. I am told that the part is on back order. I received another recall notice from Dodge which prompted me to log this.

Tried calling in for the left front tie rod recall to auto nation Dodge and they told me that they have recalled the parts to fix. Called the Chrysler help line and they were not helpful at all. The lady I talked to could not tell me when Chrysler is supposed to have the part to fix the recall. Why is Chrysler sending out notifications and telling people to call there local dealers to fix the recall when they do not have the parts to fix and why is it taking so long?

I bought a 2012 Ram 2500 crew cab 4X4 made in Mexico 10th month of 2011. I bought the truck Dec 28th 2011 new. The truck was pulling to the left and under a load you can not control the truck. Under a load, it wants to dart all over the road if you have something hooked to the bumper. Took the truck to 3 Dodge dealers complaining about this above problem. Dodge says there was not a problem with this truck whatsoever. But, after hooking the trailer to my 2009 GMC diesel with no problem at all towing I knew it was the Dodge truck that I was having problems with. Dodge still didn't want to admit that there was a problem with this Dodge truck. I took the Dodge to a frame shop. The frame shop called me in less than a hour requesting that I return to the shop, so they could show me the problems with the frame. The frame is off from plus 5 mm to minus 23 mm off center. The rear end is sitting about an inch closer on one side than the other making the truck want to turn left all the time. The bed on the truck sits crooked to the cab. Dodge still don't want to fix the truck. I hired a lawyer but Dodge has not replied. I think it is time that the federal government stepped in on this matter. Because I have a factory defective vehicle. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
