My uconnect radio started going off and on. It will time out a blank screen every 3 minutes and reboot. If there is an answer to this problem, please share information, because the Dodge dealership doesn't even know. They say to replace with a new one.

2500 Laramie 6.7L Cummins

  • Automatic transmission
  • 180 miles

Our brand spanking new Ram exhibits the same problems as most other gripes I've seen on this site and in blogs: UConnect locks up, freezes, reboots, flashes messages--you never know WHAT it's going to do on any given day. Some days it makes the truck nearly unusable. Absolutely unacceptable in a new vehicle no matter what the price, but even more infuriating that it happened on a $50k truck while I was on a test drive. If I'd have done my homework in advance I'd have known of the issue and steered clear.

UConnect/audio rebooted on the test drive and the dealer salesperson shrugged it off. Didn't think it was anything to worry about. But driving home from the dealer it froze up. Been doing it since. Had it back three days after purchase and the service department flashed it. Now I'm waiting on a head unit at 180 miles on the odo. It's unfortunate that to get a workhorse Cummins diesel pickup you have to put up with incompetent techno geek equipment that was engineered by losers who probably lost their jobs at dot com companies. All this $50k truck has to do is pull a trailer and I have to do it with intermittent climate control or audio. Shame on you Chrysler Group.
