Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

2009 Saturn Aura Owner Comments

problem #1

Nov 162010

  • 43,000 miles

While driving in rush hour traffic in the pouring rain on the morning of November 16, 2010, the drivers side window wiper suddenly, without warning, quit working. As a result, I lost total visibility resulting in an extremely dangerous situation to myself and the drivers in front of me. Fortunately I was able to keep my wits about me, turned on my hazard lights and slowly made my way to the shoulder emergency lane without incident. It appears that there is a problem with the wiper arm where it bolts to the wiper motor shaft. The groves in the wiper arm hole where the shaft from the wiper motor mounts were completely stripped out. Buick enclave, GMC acadia and Saturn outlook have all had the same problem and a recall was issued - in the salt belt states.
