Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety. Notes: A relatively dependable vehicle that handles well in bad weather, but increasing concerns about turbo failure in the GT probably means you should look elsewhere if you want a car with a little pep in its step.

The windshield wiper speed on my 2005 Subaru Legacy wagon is marginally adequate in very heavy rainstorm conditions. This condition was reported to my dealer service center, who admitted that other customers have voiced similar concerns. The dealer verified that my wiper blade speed is normal for that model. The wiper speed on the high setting is 10 cycles every 10 seconds. When compared to my 2003 Subaru outback wagon, the speed on that vehicle is 12 cycles every 10 seconds. That is 20% faster and closer to what I feel is acceptable for safe driving in a thunderstorm.
