Bought the vehicle with 126K on it for $6000,was using more and more oil, then the head gasket blew.Toyota's are overpriced for what you get and this year of 4Runner is a crammed interior for my six foot 220lb frame. This is my girlfriends vehicle, she loves Toyota for reasons I can't figure out why.The newer Toyota's are way out of our price range for now.I'm trying to talk her into a different make.We need a sport utility 4wd 4dr w/decent fuel mileage same size or bigger than a 4Runner.

This 4runner also rusted out really bad,so I think it's not worth fixing for $1500-$1850,the high end if the heads are bad. Also rear window motor burned out so you can't open up the back at all,had it fixed once and the button stuck and burned the new one out too.Sucky design Toyota!

I Hate toyotas!!!!! i will never but another one. I cannot believe this happened. I still owe $5000.00 on it and i have to pay full converage insurance on it because it is financed. I though i was making a good investment by buying a Toyota. But NO. I am so mad. It was recalled for faulty head gaskets and the recall work was done in 1997. But they obviously messed up again! i am screwed now. I work two jobs and still cannot afford to fix it. I don't even know if it is worth fixing. Because something else can go wrong. I have taken it to two mechanics and it is definitely the head gasket. I am very upset with Toyota. I will continue to buy Honda's. Thank god i still have my 1990 Honda accord. But it has 216,000 miles on it. It still is better than a Toyota.
