Car failed MOT at local Arnold Clark VW dealer, due to air bag fault light. A (unhelpful) comment was that I would be better with a VW ?
Main dealer (Arnold Clark Toyota) sourced fault to short circuit in seat belt circuit. but unable or unwilling to state the actual cause of failure which, in my opinion, should not happen in a 4 year old car.
Cost to strip drivers seat and replace seat "squab" over £700 GBP (1100 USD).
