I have been 20 4 shops for this. 2 Toyota dealerships in PA and 2 private shops in PA. Thousands on dollars in repairs hassles, tows, rentalks, lost time, $, sleep work etc. The car will stall and stop in traffic, at stop signs red lights, etc. It revs up to 2000 rpms then goes down to 250-500 rpms like there was a ghost in the machine, freaky annoying, inexplicable. I love the old bugger but it is really causing me major hassles, time and money. Driving it now is a total pain in the a% $*&. why does it start off then sfter driving for 1-2 miles stall out then it wont start??/

for the last 6 months my car has been stalling on and off. I've changed the fuel filter but didnt help. I usually need to wait a few minutes before I can get it started again. Sometimes I need to keep my foot on the gas pedal to keep it running. I'm wondering if it may be the fuel pump. I don't want to pay $165 for a new one if that isn't it. Can anyone help me.
