During the winter months the car will not shift until I have driven the car for about a mile and stopped or slowed to a craw. I have tried warming the car for 10 to 30 minutes before driving with no success. This appears to be similar to other complaints however my car does not jerk when it shifts. The problem is a delayed shift from first to second gear. After I have driven the car for roughly a mile, then slow to a craw or stop the car the transmission shifts fine. I have only had this issue when the temperature drops to the 40's def F and below.
