CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Camry used to be adorned with our “Seal of Pretty Good” but that was before an alarming number of complaints started rolling in for excessive oil consumption.

Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal” for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Camry lxe. He stated while driving at speeds of less than 35 mph the radiator warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact was able to maneuver off the highway and noticed there was radiator fluid leaking from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to dealer where they performed a diagnostic and found there was a hole in the radiator. Repairs were made to the vehicle at the owner's expense. The radiator and air conditioner cooling coil were replaced. There were no recalls for the failure. The manufacturer did not assist with the cost of the repairs. The failure and current mileages were under 26,837.

New Toyota Camry hybrid 2009. Bought at bill page Toyota-falls church-va on 05/30/09. On 05/31/09 A/C was not working, 06/01/09 car has been fixed at dealer and A/C worked. Then on 06/25/09, A/C was not working again. Take car to dealer on 06/26/09; technician said A/C system leaked need to order part. And the car need to back to dealer on 06/28/09 to fix. If you buy a new car with $28000 and it's not for 1 month yet you have to back to dealer to fix the same problem twice like that. Will you be happy customer" Toyota made their own name down to hill. Will you buy a new car from Toyota again if you have experience like mine" in the past I bought 6 cars from Toyota. Going forward no more Toyota for me.
