CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Camry used to be adorned with our “Seal of Pretty Good” but that was before an alarming number of complaints started rolling in for excessive oil consumption.

Owners are being caught off-guard with how quickly their cars are running out of oil. No leaks, no spills, just 1 quart of vanishing oil in as little as 1,200 miles. Toyota maintains this is “normal” for the 2AZ-FE engine, even though they issued a TSB for the problem in August of 2011.

When my wife would get in the passenger seat of our Camry and get belted in for a minute or so before I got in and started the car, the seat belt off light would illuminate. This has happened several times and does not seem to happen if I start the car before she belts in. This was reported to eddy's Toyota and they recalibrated the seat sensors but the problem did not go away.

Last week my daughter was in a car accident and the front of her vehicle was pretty damaged, she was then slammed into the side rail on the freeway, but no aibags deployed. I am not sure why these airbags did not go, her car is now considered totaled. The car she was driving was a 2009 Camry. Considering this accident could have been fatal I am wondering why nothing happen when the car went in to a car/side rail.. both from the front.
