The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while driving 20 MPH, while the transmission was upshifting, the vehicle started shaking abnormally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 130,000.

The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Camry. The contact stated while attempting to accelerate at any speed, the vehicle shuddered and hesitated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who confirmed that there was a recall regarding the transmission however, the recall had since expired. The failure continued and the contact learned that the failure may be due to a defective torque converter. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the recall had expired. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000. The car continues to get worse, terrible vibration/shaking & hesitates while driving & accelerating. In fear of being hit from behind or being stranded on the road. Please assist. Thank you.

The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Camry. While operating the vehicle, the transmission would suddenly downshift causing the vehicle to stall the cause of the failure was unknown the vehicle would start to shutter and vibrate, causing the contact to be concerned for his safety the contact stated that while driving at speeds above 50 mph, the transmission would downshift causing the speed to abruptly reduce and the vehicle to shutter and vibrate. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer thompson Toyota (122 West swamp rd, doylestown pa) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 98,000. Consumer stated dealer failed to disclose extended warranty when vehicle was sold to consumer.
