Camry XSE 2.5L

So bought this car but found seats very uncomfortable after about 1-2 weeks of driving. There is a hump in the middle cushion on the seat which presses up on the bottom of your tailbone / prostate area which tends to inflame area. Not good. I tried the leather seats in a hybrid and they were even worse. Not sure why they would design a seat that would push up on the base of your penis / prostate area. VERY annoying. Didn't notice when I bought it - seemed to get worse over time. Thinking it may have something to do with heated seat warmer. Rented an SE a few years back but didn't have this problem after driving it. SE seats must be different than XSE. I purchased a gel cushion but only a temp solution. It causes back positioning to be out-of-adjustment and then a different issue arises. May end up taking car to upholstery place to have seats adjusted.

Camry LE 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 43 miles

On a short test ride, it is not noticeable. I bought this car, lovely gas mileage, fund options.

BUT, But after 20 minutes these seats are incredibly uncomfortable.

My legs are fatigued, lower lumbar not supported, very strange configuration. No matter what I try, I can not find the sweet spot on the seat. Your seat belts are also positioned too low on the side door, even though adjustable, with the seat problem, it makes it very difficult to be comfortable in this car.

I went back to Toyota 3 days after I bought i to see what could be done. One of the salesman asked before I said anything....." the seats??" HE KNEW! Then they insulted me by offering $14,000 for a new $24,000 car with only 89 miles on it. Would not work with me, really disappointing.

Forget long drives or road trips with a great gas mileage car, it's painful. Only wish I had found this site before I took a loss of over $8000 just to get RID of this Camry LE, before it has 500 miles on it. Could not stand to drive it.

p.s. .... I traded it in for a BMW.

Camry XLE V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,000 miles

The driver's seat causes severe pain in my left buttock. The seat is very hard and also does not give adequate support. The contour of the bucket seat does not fit my rear. Toyota claimed that they never heard of this problem. I have been driving Camrys since 1985 without any seat discomfort. This is a first. I regret I did not notice the problem when I test drove the car. It took a few weeks for my left buttock to spasm. Now I will be trying an after market seat cushion.
