I can't believe that my Toyota Corolla made in England, which i bought in 2000, and maintained thoroughly in Toyota Dealer in Athens Greece started to smell Benzin while at 110,000 kms. Every day smelled more and more and the tank gauge was going lower and lower very quickly. The last year it also burns oil like crazy. Just months ago the oil was all burned down and that attracted my attention to this problem for the first time. The technician told me that the plastic reservoir had cracks on the upper side at the fuel pump and I shld replace it. Only the spare fuel pump cost 500 Euros. They told me that when Toyotas were made in Japan the oil tank and pump was made of iron and there was no crck. But now they are out of cheap plastic and such problems have become very common Can's beliebve hat would be the consequences had I a collision or anything ???? For s stupid plastic !!! do not buy Corolla ever ever again.
