The contact owns a 2004 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that there were small metal fragments around the fuel tank cap and filler neck area and a strong fuel odor was could be noticed while inside and outside of the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a mechanic and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000. The VIN was unavailable.
