The back seats do are not able to be opened from inside the car. The trunk also malfunctioned and will not open up. If there was a child or someone in the trunk, they would not be able to get out without pulling apart the whole trunk itself. I find this very dangerous and makes me grateful one of my children weren't trapped inside when it decided to stop working properly. I would like to find a resolution to this matter so the safety of others is not compromised!

Drivers seat shifts when accelerating and applying brakes - it began when the vehicle only had 7,500 miles on it. I've had the seat assembly replaced by Toyota three times. A technical service bulletin was issued in 2007 and it was then replaced for the fourth time. The issue still exists and Toyota told me they won't fix it anymore. I am a loyal Toyota owner but this just might change my mind.

Corolla 4-cyl

  • Manual transmission
  • 15,000 miles
Driver's side seat has developed an annoying knocking noise that occurs most often when accelerating from a stop. Dealer was informed and was able to duplicate noise. Dealer replaced entire seat frame and tracks but problem recurred months later. Dealer has replaced frame and tracks again. But this time there is excessive free play occurring along the right side of the seat because the track latch does not engage properly. Major headache.

2005 Toyota Corolla passenger sensor is overly sensitive. When seat is touched ringers go off. When any object is placed in the seat the ringer sounds. Whenever a back seat passenger touched the passenger seat the ringer would sound. The ringer also sounded occasionally for no reason at all. The consumer spoke to the service manager at the dealer who stated that the sensor was working to the specifications of the vehicle.

Driver's seat shifts slightly and creates knocking when weight is applied to it or when turning or stopping the vehicle. The passenger seat does not do this. Extremely annoying.
