I got in my car and buckled my seatbelt. I started driving away when I realized it wasn't staying buckled.I tried to re-buckle. A spring flew out of the buckle. I could not get the seatbelt to buckle after that.I had to go to work, so I buckled the seatbelt into the passenger coupling and was able to get to work. The car was entirely in motion during this sequence.

The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla. While the contact's vehicle was stopped at a stop light, it was rear ended by another vehicle. The speed was unknown. The seat belt failed to secure the driver. As a result, the driver struck the windshield. Also, the air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained minor injuries and amnesia. The front seat passenger sustained minor injuries and back pains that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and the body damage was repaired. The contact was unaware if the seat belt failure was diagnosed. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 109,737.

Takata recall. The contact owned a 2010 Toyota Corolla. While driving approximately 30 mph over a pothole, the contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a steel pole. None of the air bags deployed. The entire front end of the vehicle was damaged. The seat belt failed to restrain the contact and caused her to hit her chest on the steering wheel. A police report was not filed. The contact sustained injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to a body shop and was totaled by the insurance company. A VIN search located NHTSA campaign number: 16V340000 (air bags), but the contact stated that she did not receive the recall notice. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 127,447. Parts distribution disconnect.

Takata recall.........Toyota has almost a year to fix this problem. Please make it where my friends can ride in the front seat. This is ridiculous. I purchased this car because of Toyota's safety rating March 2010, the next day there was a recall and it has gone down hill since. I paid cash money for my car and cannot afford to purchase another. If the airbags or any other safety recall is not fixed asap and something happens I or my heirs will own Toyota! and takata! get busy!!!!!! nothing happened yet but does it have to?

The buckles in the back seat of the car were installed in opposite places. The back left seatbelt will only buckle in the center seatbelt buckle. The center seatbelt will only buckle in the back left buckle. They are not twisted. If I have three passengers in the back, they have to crisscross the belts to buckle. The buckle installed on the left side has the word "center" on it.
