Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

FJ Cruiser 6-cyl

  • 60,000 miles

2007 Fj cruiser with 60,000 blew a head gasket. There is major engine damage from over heating. Temp gauge never read that the car was over heating or that there were any engine problems. Also at a red light the car switched gears and a moment later switched lurched forward with a big thump. I was at a full stop with my foot on the brake luckily!

The Toyota Fj cruiser develops bulges in the engine bay over time with normal driving. These are in the crumple zones and eventually rip. Toyota fails to fix this to spite having hundreds of documented cases. Mine is one of them.
