Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Airbag light is on intermittently. I used to be able to shut off and restart and it would go away, now it stays on even if I restart the vehicle. Vehicle has 55,000 miles, I am the original owner, never damaged.

On Jan.7th around 10:00pm my son and his cousin and her boy friend was going to the store for snacks. The road was covered with snow and he had the Fj cruiser in 4-wheel drive. The Fj cruiser slid off the road and flipped over into the river. The vehicle has several air bags in it and not one of them deployed. Thank god, they were not hurt, although they did go to the hospital. Need less to say the Fj cruiser was totaled. No one of the air bags went off.

The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Fj cruiser. The contact was driving in snowy weather and approaching a traffic stop. He proceeded to make a left turn when another vehicle came through the intersection and crashed into the side of the contact's vehicle. The contact's vehicle was pushed several feet down the street and into the curb. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained injuries to his neck and spine. The vehicle was able to be driven after the accident. The insurance company stated the air bags did not deploy, because the side step on the vehicle took the brunt of the collision.
