RAV4 SX6 3.5L
Single ticking occurs when engine is cold. It is reduced to faint ticking when warmed up. This problem has been reported on several other forums. Sounds like a lifter beginning to fail or piston backlash. Car is only 3 months old. After several visits Toyota has denied a problem, which is absolutely disgusting. I have had three other Toyota's before this new car. Something is definitely loose in this 2GR FE engine and I suspect a lifter problem.
